I know that they are differnt dialects and I noticed some of the mexicans at my old job had some difficulty conversing with the south american spanish speaking people. I speak Moderate Mexican-Spanish not fluent and was wondering if that would get me by in spain, Travelling mind you not trying to work or anything

I know "i love you" has many different meanings, so, this is someone who i care deaply for and want to start a serious relationship with. Jlikesgoo - Your example is a not correct either, or shall I say it is not normative. Le should refer to an indirect object pronoun (objeto indirecto tercera persona). "El carro" from your example is not an indirect object, therefore you are personifying the car. Understand where I'm coming from?
Lo would be the correct object pronoun but then you wouldn't need to put "el carro."

Example: Someone is born in the United States of Mexican parents and speaks both English and Spanish fluently since birth. They then go abroad to France to study French. Will they speak French with an English accent or a Spanish accent, or will they speak it with an accent in between English and Spanish? (By English and Spanish, I mean the English and Spanish languages, not the accents of England and Spain. Obviously in this case this individual would have an American English and a Mexican Spanish accent in their two languages).

Hypothetically Speaking: If The majority of illegal Immigrants were Haitian instead of Mexican would this change the view on illegal immigration. I mean if the illegal immigrants were black instead would the views on illegal immigration change. Can you imagine white people marching on the streets demanding illegal blacks to leave their country. Would this be seen as racism in the eyes of the black community. What would Jesse Jackson say?

if all immigrants learned english. assimilated into our society and blended with our culture we would have no issues, but the damn people want to fly their own flag in our country. Grounds for treason/hanging not too long ago.

We're Mexican-American, but we speak TOTAL English at home. Only time we speak Spanish is when our dad is pissed and is lecturing us. So if we hear someone yelling like a guy from a Spanish soap opera, it only means one thing. We're in trouble.
And we (the kids) can understand Spanish, but we can't speak it. Talk to us in Spanish and we respond in English.

A first generation immigrant Mexican family has moved into my neighborhood. Mom and Dad speak almost no English, and their 12 year old son speaks very little. Their financial situation doesn't allow for things like bookbags for the kids or a coat for Mom. My family has so much extra stuff, including coats never worn and bookbags never carried. I take their kids to school everyday with all the other kids I take, and Mom makes us homemade tamales. They are a lovely family, and even though we have a language barrier, we've managed to find ways to communicate and I don't want to damage this new relationship between our families. How can I give them things without offending them? I'm sure their Mexican Pride is just as great as my Southern Pride and I'd rather give people I know things they can use rather than just take them to the Sally. Any help? Thanks.

I thought it was a blatant attempt to convince weak-minded people to think breaking the law was ok, and to think otherwise meant you are a 'racist'.

I think a day with out a mexican, would expose the companies that illegally hire them because the want ads would suddenly be bursting and the gov't could easily see who the illegals worked for.
I also thought it was 'racist' as MANY LEGAL immigrants from other countries do the low end work because of language barriers and disparate educations.
I married a mexican so I don't want a day without her, but without the illegals?
A day, week, month, year, decade and lifetime?

Is it difficult to be legal in Italy from America?

I've always wondered, all the people who're anti mexican or latino seem to just love Mexican food, and often Corona! I've never understood this. Why would they talk negatively about Mexicans or Latinos as a whole, then run on over to Chipotle! Are most so called racists just fake? You claim not to like a people, then want to enjoy their food, which is made by them, then served to you!

There is a Mexican girl in my class and we got into an argument about variants of the Spanish language. She says that Mexican Spanish isn't Spanish and that if a Mexican goes to Spain that the Spaniard and the Mexican won't understand each other. I understand that pronunciation is a little bit different, and I also know that Mexican Spanish has indigenous pre-Spanish Mexican words added to it, but I know it's not a completely different language.

yea my parents and i have a very weird relationship,
they dont speak english and i dont speak spanish, they can understand english and i can understand spanish but thats it. we understand eachother just fine though is that weird ive lived like this my whole life am i the only one? i lived just outside of dallas my whole life and never really had use spanish in school or to my friends so inever used it. im just wondering is there a generation of hispanics that dont know how to speak spanish very well.

I don't get it, why are there so many people who can only speak spanish when English is all around them? It seems like you would have to try harder not to learn English.
