If you were considering learning spanish which type of spanish would you rather learn? Mexican or Spaniard? there is also south american spanish? I ask this because I'm curious to know if United Statians (and I quote "Americans") have a preference.

Today was my last day of school and we were signing yearbooks in the cafeteria. I had just finished signing my best friends and I wanted to take her aside to tell her how much I value our friendship and how much she meas to me and mid talking she just ignores me and starts associating with someone else. I'm not a heartfelt or sensitive person at all and that was a big step for me and she didn't even care. Should I stop talking to her?

It doesn't bother me when when I hear people who are African-Americans talk that way ... not to say all African-Americans talk that way, but for those who do, it doesn't bother me because I can understand that way of talking is kind of part of their cultural up bringing.

But when I see people who are white or some other nationality, such as Indian, Mexican, Asian, etc., who talk like they're a black person ... that just annoys the hell out of me. To me, they're trying to act like something they're not.

I always hear latinos talking crap about Mexicans and their country when their countries aren't doing any better. I mean if one of their countries was next to Mexico they would have many of their people immigrating into the U.S. illegally, so why do latinos have to say bad things about Mexicans?

I don't know why but I always get filipino and mexican guys that flirt with me. (I mean like filipino and mexican born/american immigrant) It's always so different that when I get hit on by other guys. I always get charmed and flattered by these guys. Only thing is that because I'm so used to getting rude/disrespectful comments and techniques from (blacks and well we'll say most americans in general. I'm black but its not only black guys that are rude) that I don't know how to respond to guys that are actually being respectful. I usually end up keeping my mouth shut and laughing a lot. I'm never quiet and if the constant laughing creeps me out, i know it has to creep the guys out. I never did like the nervous laughs. And the whole culture thing doesn't help. I don't know how to respond to a filipino my own age since the only time I've been around filipinos are the teachers at my school. I'm around mexicans/lations/hispanics all the time but that doesn't beat the mexicans who talk to me most of whom barely speak english with heavy accents at that. I'm asking this because well... maybe not for you BUT for me it's the very first boyfriend and girl friend event I seen for the very FIRST time in my life! I've got a latino mexican american friend from Mexico City, Mexico and his name's Darien Norgaurd! {Darien} from Sailor Moon! That's his name TOO! He's 18 years old and he's a very, very handsome mexican american boy with long Latin hair! And he goes to my University College with me here in Detroit, Michigan! Now here's the thing, Darien is a legend rock star and play the Explozion Razorback guitar and dies his hair bright pink, violet purple, and light blue! And he's wears pink face paint on his face and eyes too! He's play in a rock band here at College with his other rock star band mates and Darien wears 80's old school rock star clothes too! He's a super star Eddie Van Halen player! We've been here for 2 weeks and we share the same dorm room too! Last week when Darien was on his way to music practice he saw this REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY BEAUTIFUL AND PRETTY Korean Asian super star cheerleader named Jun Liamorvia age 19 from South Korea out in the football field practicing with her cheerleading squad for a huge competion against another in a few weeks from now! And when he saw her Darien smiled a lot and thought she was pretty and beautiful looking! And a 2 hours later she saw her again in the cafetira during lunch. And as Darien's being served Jun looks at him and thinks he's fine and cute! And as Darien's eating lunch Jun smiles at him says to herself 'That must be Darien who Jacob Sosa told me about!" After Darien is done eating his lunch he's heads back to his music class to practice some songs with his rock band! As he's walking there Darien says "I wonder who that Asian girl is I like her she BEAUTIFUL!" "i WANT TO METT HER TODAY!"

Now my question is... Darien is Latino Mexican and Jun is Korean Asian and they seem to like each other! So do you think Darien should talk to Jun and get to know and even star a relationship with her? This is the first Mexican and Asian relationship I've seen before! So should Darien talk to Jun since he like her? A Mexican AND Asain boyfriend and girlfriend couple???

My church is going on a mission trip to Spain and I want to learn real Spanish. However, every where I look it is only Mexican being taught. Is there a website or software that specializes in real Spanish? Mexican won't help me in Spain.

I don't really understand it because we got a lot of good players in there like Beckham and Donavan. And there are many Mexican players and Hispanic players in there also. I don't understand why it's not more popular and among the most popular leagues.

My boyfriend is hispanic and I really want to learn spanish so that he and I can have indepth conversations. While he knows a lot of english sometimes it gets frustrating to try and figure out what he is trying to say. While I have a few books that have helped me with vocabulary I'm still really stumped and want to know if anyone has any suggestions. Maybe new books I could try or some other way I could learn the language quickly?
