Hi. I speak some spanish, but not too much.

I’m trying to track down this mexican family we once knew for a brief time when I was a child. I believe the father’s name was Humberto. Is that a common Mexican name, or could it have likely been something else similar?
Are there any other names that are simliar or sound similar to "Humberto?"

Second question: He had a little girl (two years old) they called "Mimi"
Is "Mimi" a common nickname for a specific mexican girl’s name?
I know these are strange questions, but maybe you can give me some thoughts.

Hola.

  1. Humberto is indeed a Spanish name. It means "bright, intelligent" and is a form of the German Humbert.

As for Mimi, I’m not so sure. I do know that "mimi" is a child’s way of saying "dormir," aka sleep. ("vamos a ir a mimi" would be "let’s go nightnight," roughly.) However, it could be a nickname for various other names: Mirela, Margarita, Maria, Miguela, Micaela. It’s too vast to be narrowed down. Hope I helped you in your search. Good luck.
