Should Mexican immigrants learn English or should we continue to accommodate them in Spanish?
Everyone else who came to America has learned our language and were proud to do so. Do they want to be Americans or do they just want to live here?
Didn't take long for someone to say I'm discriminating. That word has sure been wore out. If someone is doing something wrong and you don't like it then you are somehow discriminating.

Learn English
I believe that Mexicans who immigrate to America legally should learn the English language, but I am also open to the idea that Americans should learn Spanish or another foreign language because it will not better the person as a whole, but will be beneficial in the future. But, I’m against Mexicans or any group of people who come over illegally.
Learn english.
You will find more support for this (even from the children of mexican and central american immigrants) than you can imagine.
A buddy of mine whose parents and in-laws immigrated to the US, always chastises them for not speaking english better after being in the US for over 30 years. He blames Univision and Telemundo for most of it.
If we went to their country they would expect us to know their language so they can learn ours

Why limit yourself to Mexicans? If you’re going to discriminate, why don’t you discriminate against all people who don’t speak English.
The fact of the matter is that US Citizens don’t all speak English. Especially in larger cities, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa…you get the point. In order not do discriminate against people based on their national origin, the government communicates in lots of languages, Spanish being one of the major ones. But after the World Trade Center disaster, the government needed people to speak with citizens who spoke Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Muong, Tagalog, etc., because NYC is such a metropolitan city.
I’m proud that the US is open to peoples of the whole world, and people like you make me ashamed.
They should learn english and we should learn spanish. You never know when you’ll be dating one.
I asked some of my employees (through an interpreter) and they said they had tried ESL classes, and it was too difficult. They reason that they were invited to come North to help business do the jobs Americans refuse to do (at minimum wage), and its only right that the American people should take Spanish as a 2nd language, because its easier for Americans to learn Spanish, than it is for Latinos to learn English.
I hear some you saying "huh ?? when did we invite them ??" When employers like me hire illegals, it has the same effect as extending an engraved invitation. The act of hiring illegals sends a strong message "COME TO AMERICA !! WE’D RATHER HIRE YOU OVER AMERICANS !!" And the law clearly says I can hire illegals over Americans.
The Feds passed the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986 to supposedly stop the practice of hiring illegals. The law was just the opposite; it contained loopholes to give employers immunity from criminal prosecution for hiring illegals. Job applicants are required to furnish documents to prove their right to work in the US; but it DID NOT require employers to verify / authenticate these. This means FAKE social security cards, FAKE birth certificates, and FAKE identification cards are allowable forms of documents. So long as employers have these on file, employers like me can’t be prosecuted for hiring illegals.
They just wan’t to live here and leech off all the freebies the government gives them while remaining loyal to Mexico.
If you want to live and work in America at some point the immigrants are going to have to learn the language or they want be able to function in our society for very long. So yes, it should be mandatory at work and school. However, they do want to keep their heritage, they don’t want to become white Americans, I think they prefer staying Mexican and living in America.
Learn to speak English! We did not go to their country they came to ours. It is funny all others can learn English,says something about them doesn’t it!
Corporate America! You need to tear your a** over to their country,trash like you is what’s keeping them coming. The law will be changed and I hope you are the first to be hit with jail and fines, you will end up getting prison time or slithering over their border running like they do ours.
To complete the reconquest of America the messycon must force their language on Americans. Which they are successfully doing so far. It’s up to the patriot Americans to fight back by refusing to do business with any company that speaks messycon.
Better everybody begin to learn Chinese. 1100 million people speak it, it is a neutral language ( nobody bad mouths it, so far ) and China is becoming the most powerful economic country in the world
There is nothing wrong with Spanish. There’s a lot wrong with trespassers.

Mexican immigrants, or ANY other immigrant should learn the language of whatever country they go to. If their country provided for their needs then they wouldn’t need to leave it, They are not offering us anything….we don’t NEED what they do…..there is no reason why the USA should speak Spanish.
Call me when I have to beg for something from Mexico. They are comming HERE saying….I NEED to work..I need a job….I’m not going there….till then……speak English..

they should definetley learn english i really dont understand why some of them refuse to. and most legal mexican immigrants make an effort to learn english unlike illegals. when i walk into a mcdonalds i want to order a burger but if no one understands english how will i get my burger. and thats a problem about illegal immigration. btw i wasnt trying to be racist with the burger thing its just most mexicans do work at mcdonalds no pun intended.

hold on a minute bra. Who is the "we" that is accommodating to the immigrants. Have you become a Spanish translator already or something. It’s the Mexican immigrants and the sons of the Mexican immigrants that have to speak to them. It’s Americans like me who have to speak to there parents in Spanish to communicate with them and speak English at school that have to accommodate to those immigrants. And why are you saying only Mexican Immigrants because when i go to the mall i see all kinds of people speaking different languages.
I’m mexican i agree that immigrants should learn english but they are not going to learn it in a year or two. Try learning fluent spanish it’s not going to be easy it might take you about 3 or more years. Also one of the reasons most of them don’t spaek english is because they want to preserve thier culture.
all foreign citizens should have to learn the language of the country that they wish to become citizens of.

People who come into our country to live should learn English. I don’t care what language they speak at home, but when they are out among us, they should learn our language. Of course most of them probably don’t want to be Americans. They just want all the things that we have to offer them. And as long as we let them have these things, they will continue to come.
hey when you dummis go to onother country they would like for yall to speak there language so please stop saying that to the mexican plus hey we are so proud to be mexican que viva la raza!!! But yuh anyways lots of peopl here in america say they like would like to speak spanish and that they would like to be tan like us and not white!!!!! so hey yall leave here but yall aint really americana!! Your family might be from onother culture and speak onother language and they have not yet told you!!! so hey mexican should have an opportunity to be here to speak what ever language they want to!! they have spoken languages here in the u.s so yuhh i dont care wut yall think
