I'm writing persuasive essay on immigration. Do you think its a good idea to have an open door policy where there is no borders and hundreds of lives are saved...on the US-Mexican border. What are the pros and cons of this? Please be honest and detailed (with statistics IF possible) thank you so much
im trying to get other peoples opinion

Why is it that whenever someone talks about immigration, they go straight to the bias and say Mexicans. Last time I checked there are immigrants from asia, india, europe, colombia, guatemala, honduras, venezuela, argentina, peru, and so many other countries. Just because someone speaks a form of spanish because believe it or not every country speaks spanish differently with a whole different vocabulary, you all say Mexican. Mexicans don't call you British because you speak English so why call latinos Mexican becuase they speak Spanish?

Rude comments will be reported so answer respectfully and honestly.

Past immigration - Immigrants came into this country LEGALLY and immediately began adapting to the new culture. They wouldnt even teach their newborn children the old language because they wanted them to completely assimilate into American culture.

Current invasion - Illegal aliens sneak over the border, don't bother to learn the language or the culture and leave it up to the state to teach their children english.

Past immigration - Immigrants were checked very closely at Ellis island to ensure they had no diseases.

Current invasion - Illegal aliens are bringing in diseases such as TB and the bubonic plague.

Past immigration - Respected that they were now an American citizen and obeyed the law. Respected the American flag.

Current invasion - Illegal aliens bring in violent crime and gangs. Disrespect the flag by stomping on it, burning it and flying it above their mexican flag. Have an idea that the southwest US belongs to Mexico.

This is an INVASION people. NOT IMMIGRATION!

and is 100% native american?

not my article i havent really read it yet im not for or against it just wanted to use the picture in it

I mean we don't have to but it seems more and more importent for us to learn Spanish since they are coming from the south and pushing North. I'm kind of learning the language right now so. But I'm wondering why should we teach ourselves spanish. Why son't they just learn english if they want to come here so bad. If I was going to Latin America for what ever reason I'd just learn spanish for my own and their benifit. Immigration needs to be controlled before America is destroyed.
I agree Crystal, it's too bad political corectness keeps people from even voiceing their opinion
the reason why the number of spanish speaking people has grown is becuase over the last 2 decades they jumped the borders and all had 40 kids.
we should all listen to shelton he's a smart guy
I blame employers also for using jobs as bate for them to run over here. Everyone wants a worker for half price. These people need to either learn english or leave.

I'm always curious about this that is, what makes one country's cuisine more popular than the others.
Also why Italian cuisine is more popular than spanish one??
Immigration may counts, however, French cuisine is also popular not only in the US but in Japan and several countries. Spanish did conquer the world but not people's mouth. (Pourquoi?)
That is, there weren't many French immigrants in the US as compared to Mexican and Italian immigrants. But French cuisine is popular.

I'm tired that every time you hear the words "Illegal alien" they think you're talking about Mexicans, why do people don't understand that immigration comes from different countries not only Mexico?

Where do you weigh in on this immigration things? I mean we are talking about mexicans here. There are over 12 million undocumented mexcians in the USA?

Should the be forced to LEAVE??? Or what?

My wife is Mexican, and has problems writing in English. Which is really strange, because she can read, but when she tries to write she can't visualize the spelling and grammar. What is the best way for an adult to learn? For children I normally recommend reading as much as they can so they get a better idea of what good writing is supposed to look like, but that's not working for her. She can write in Spanish fluently. We're not looking to write a novel yet, just learn enough to pass the immigration test.

Mexico has no special privilege to dump its problems on us. Mexico is one of our largest oil suppliers. Do those poor indians see any of that oil revenue? Doubtful. The more illegals we let in, the longer Mexico can avoid having to fix the problems in their own country where the spanish elites live high on the hill while indian peasants have to resort to "el Norte". If immigration activists really hate whitey so much, then talk to Mexican whiteys who run that country like a feudal estate.
