I heard Obama is a Muslim and that means he is not from America? If he is a Muslim what country is he from and can he still be the president of america. I heard in church that he might be a terrorist from Iraq where we are having a war for christ our sawvior and redeemer. Is Obama like pontios pilot? Can Christians get reparations because of all the wellfare checks we are giving to muslims and they come from mexico and have babies and make regular people speak mexican american?
I am a Third Generation Mexican American and although some people in my family speak Spanish as in my relatives and grandparents, I speak English and I consider myself american but why is it that people say I am not an american and a Mexican even though I was born in the United States and I am a legal citizen. Also, I would like to know your opinions. Am I American Or Mexican?
I am Mexican-American and I know both Spanish and English fluently.
I am going towards medicine and would ike to learn another language.
I have been considering these three: Italian, Portuguese, French
I do not know which one to choose.
Portuguese is most similar to Spanish in lexico but Italian is similar in pronunciation.
French is most known but more difficult.
I am stuck in a dilemma, pllease help! I will give lots of points to anyone that can help me.
I hear people talk about carrying their guns "Mexican carry style". Why they call it that?
By the way, I am Mexican-American and just wondering why they call it "Mexican carry style". I don't know and that is why I am asking.
Personally I think spanish sounds the most beautiful and I'm not just saying that because I'm Mexican-American. I enjoy learning other languages like French but sometimes when you speak French it sounds like your going to spit but I still like it. I'm curious to know what you guys like. So please and Thank You!
My Dad told me and my brothers to talk English to people from Mexico in Restaurants or stores, im a 21 year old Mexican-American in San Antonio Texas, My family says if they speak spanish to you , speak in English to them, they tell me this isnt a foreign country,

First of all calling myself mexican american is a stretch. Yes my ancestors came from south of the border but I have never thought of myself as anything but american. I DON'T SPEAK SPANISH!!! I get asked this on a daily basis and it really gets on my nerves. It's as if people just expect because i have a year around tan i have to know spanish. I live in america speak english!!!! does anyone else feel this way?
So I meet this guy who is Mexican-American, and he reads, writes, and speaks fluent English. BUT...he can only speak Spanish, not read or write in it.
Don't they have the same alphabet? From what I've learned, Spanish is even more phonetic than English (telefono vs. telephone) and so I was wondering if you've heard of stuff like this before.
Do Mexican-Americans and Mexicans have similar accents when they speak Spanish?
Or are their accents different enough that Spanish-speaking people can tell the difference between a Mexican-American and a Mexican national?
And just to clarify, when I say "Mexican-Americans," I'm referring to people who grow up in predominantly Mexican communities in America. I know there are Mexican-Americans who grow up in areas where there are multiple Hispanic ethnicities, like Chicago which also has a lot of Puerto Ricans.
Spanish is my second language, but I'm pretty much fluent since I used to live in Chile...the thing is, I understand Spanish when Mexicans from Mexico speak it, but for some reason it's difficult for me to understand Mexican American's when they speak Spanish.
This is stupid, but I'm serious...I'm wondering why this might be.
Thanks ^^
Im mexican american and have been talked to in filipino. not sure what that is all about but honestly...its gettin to me.
I am Mexican-American, but I don't consider myself to be anyh different from any other American. I have come to realize though, that we are viewed differently. What is that perception? Also, I am talking about Mexican-American's and not illegal immigrants from Mexico
