Ok I have another interesting question. I want to know if hispanic people can distinguish other hispanic when they speak. I know for sure they have a common language which is "spanish" but I want to know exactly if they can distinguish other latinos apart from them.
Like lets say for example when guatemalan or puerto rican speak can a mexican know immediately that their puerto rican.
I know its a crazy question but I really wanted to know it because in English I can tell if their Australian or British right away once they speak.
ok so every where people always say you look mexican are you and do you speak spainsh it gets anoying
my mom is black white and north american
my dad is black and puerto rican
i have tan skin and long curly dark brown hair
I speak quite a bit of Spanish, but mostly Puerto Rican Spanish, and do not know a lot about Mexican culture, or differences in the various words.
I am not looking for something simple like "Hola. Como estas hoy?".
It doesn't matter where they are from, they (not including hispanic americans) always ask them if they are mexican or what part of Mexico they're from. Now, if they tell them first " I'm from-------" some of them will actually say: So, what part of Mexico is that at? Or Do you speak puerto rican, mexican, etc.?
Now remember, this also includes Americans stationed or living abroad in Europe. Some visit Spain are kinda shocked that spanish is spoken their. And still they ask hispanics there if they are Mexican.
I have different Latino friends, and they said how Mexican Spanish is more "proper" since it sounds slower. Cindy, one of my Mexican friends, said that Mexican Spanish is similar to the way British people speak English (since it sounds more proper) than American English...if that's makes any sense. My Puerto Rican friend Julisa and my Dominican friend Gisella said how Dominican and Puerto Rican Spanish are spoken a lot faster with more slang. Is that true?
i miss those beautiful big brown eyes - thanks in advance
the mexican dialect is a little different than puerto rican or spaniard spanish - for the reason of the preference.........
I am a complete outsider to these culture groups. I am not Puerto Rican and I am Not Mexican. But i want to know your opinion on the subject? What do PR's think of Mex. Spanish and mex Culture? What to mexs think of PR Spanish and PR's culture.
PS. I'm Salvadoran
Go Central American
Go C.A.
This is the type of non-sense Im talking about...PR's and Mexicans dont even like each other..This silliness of lumping non-homogeneous groups together is ridiculous..
If you hadnt noticed every "hispanic" obama promoted was puerto Rican or Domincan. His WH policy director is a black domincan "hispanic".The majority of hispanics are Mexican, you see clearly see the disparity
My parents are from Guatemala and people in LA always assume that I am mexican. I'm sure If I moved to Miami I would be considered Cuban, and if I moved to New York I would be considered Puerto Rican.
It is just like calling all Asians Chinese. Every Latin country has a different culture and accent. It is ignorant to say all of us come from Mexico. No excuse!
