What is the general perception of a Mexican American?
I am Mexican-American, but I don't consider myself to be anyh different from any other American. I have come to realize though, that we are viewed differently. What is that perception? Also, I am talking about Mexican-American's and not illegal immigrants from Mexico

Just based on people I know – strong family ties and a generally more laid-back, sensible attitude.
Oh I know this is probably very stereotypical – but a sweet tooth! Because I got a huge box of Mexican candy at Easter time, and it was so effing sweet I basically went straight into a diabetic coma.
the illegals are mexican americans, mexico is in north america. you on the other hand are an american of mexican descent if you are us born.
In general, I find Mexican Americans more humble, tend to have or come from a very big family, tend to be viewed as less educated, tend to whine and complain less, and most of them love soccer and beer.
Honestly, i swear to god, people don’t View you any differently! I hate how when people don’t get every little thing that they want in life, they assume that people are being racist to them. People only View you "differently then other americans" is if you View yourself differently or act like people will View you differently, i hate when people think that just because a fraction of Caucasian americans were racist in the past (decades ago) that they will be now (actually anyone who thinks white people View them differently because of there race are the racist ones) For example, if an african american makes a joke about white people or "white culture" its funny, but if a white person does the same, then they are racist and intolerant and rude! Even as i right this, i have to walk on eggshells making sure i do nothing wrong, say nothing "offensive" even things that it would completely okay for others to say about white people. it just makes me mad!
SO, to answer your question, no. you are not veiwed differently.
