I’ve seen non-English speakers stationed at the dressing rooms of Ross Dept. Store. All it requires is counting the customers items & handing the customer a plastic number & counting the items again when the customer comes out of the dressing room to make sure they match to correct number. Also, they put things on hangings & restock them in the correct places.
Trader Joe’s (grocery story) also has some non-English speakers, or those with some English but not much. The stock the shelves all day long and late into the night. Other people who know English or are bilingual work there, too.
Janitorial work?
Learn English. Are you afraid you can’t do it or too arrogant to try?
Not much.
Most jobs require speaking at some point. If you cannot communicate, why would an employer hire you?
cleaning toilets.
Really, lots of manual labor.
I have met doctors who have moved here from Mexico, and work as dishwashers until they get the language down!
You really have to be careful who you look down your nose at, don’t you.
Tell your friend to find something manual until he/she learns the language, or to stay there and study the language, before coming, if they don’t want to do the hard work…if they get both languages down, though, they will have plenty of work!
Video production.
