What language do people in Spain speak? Do they speak Mexican?

By the way, If Spaniards are European how come they speak Mexican?!

    Mexico was once a colony of Spain.The Spanish language was brought there by the Spanish,just as English was brought to the Americas by the English…of course you’d probably want to know why people in England speak American,right?

  2. Mexicans wish they were Spanish. Spanish are higher class Europeans and look down on MExicans. Don’t ever compare the two or the Spanish will be pisst. The Spanish speak true Spanish and the Mexicans speak the dumbed down slang version that I like to call the Mexican language, it is not proper Spanish. And I would konw, I’m Mexican.

  5. Dumb question. "Mexican" is not a language. Mexicans speak spanish or castillian with its own characteristics. Castillian is a language originated in northern spain, like basque, galician or catalan. So, in Spain we speak castillian, basque, galician and other languages.
