What's the easiest language to learn?

I decided a few days ago that I want to be bilingual, but I have no idea which language is easiest. Obviously, I only speak english, but I know a few words/phrases in Spanish, because I have a mexican friend, and my brother is taking Spanish in school. So I picked up a few things here and there, but not too much. And I’m not interested in learning Spanish. I kinda want to learn French, but I don’t know the difficulty of it. So, what’s the easiest to learn?

  1. I dunno. I think French is pretty hard. Especially the pronunciation.
German is way hard. For me at least because there are three genders.

If you know some Spanish, but didn’t want to learn it…
Then Portuguese would be easy for you. I find Portuguese very easy and it’s awesome.

    Eu amo a língua Portuguesa.

  2. Let me begin by saying that no language is easy to learn. A language is also made more easy or difficult based on the mother tongue of the person trying to learn it.
For English speakers it is widely accepted that most Romance languages are fairly easy for us English natives to learn. These include French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, and others.
Although many say that Spanish is the easiest, it gets a lot more difficult as you progress. French has many nasalized sounds and has an archaic orthography (meaning the written words have lots of silent letters and odd constructions). French also has a lot of irregular verbs.
Although many claim that German is notoriously difficult, it is actually not as bad as many people think. Its main difficulties are that it has three noun genders (masculine, feminine, neuter), as well as a different syntax (which means the words in the sentence are sometimes spoken in a different order than English). But English is also a Germanic language, so German and English have quite a bit in common.
All in all, if you want to take French, take French. It is much more difficult to learn a language that you are not interested in. All it takes is practice, practice, and more practice. I know that you will get it in time. I hope that this helps.
