It’s ’cause some people tend to be ignorant. And then, they’ll assume all Hispanics will fit into the stereotypes they’ve heard of. But I’m not saying I don’t like Mexicans – I have some Mexican in me.

Oh and just a note..
I know I’m probably gonna sound a bit PC, but not all Hispanics are Spanish. Spanish means you’re Hispanic of European descent. And the other Hispanics would be Latino(a)s who are the Hispanics of any race and/or color and are from the Americas and/or a few parts of the Caribbean.

But anyways, like I was saying, people are just ignorant. They don’t care to think that there are also other Hispanic ethnic groups (e.g. Cuban, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, Puerto Rican, Honduran, Dominican, etc.). I know, it’s really frustrating, but try your best to just laugh it off. If they don’t know, then that’s their problem.
Same here. I’m not mexican either & it’s really annoying when people call me one.
It’s easy…
I guess that they cannot tell or know that there is a difference. Mexican is the one that people most know about. I do not refer to people as mexican. I refer to them as spanish or hispanic. I think that it is interesting that there is different spanish. Do you mind me to referring to spanish?
