Why would a Mexican be proud that a Puerto Rican got promoted to the Supreme court?
This is the type of non-sense Im talking about...PR's and Mexicans dont even like each other..This silliness of lumping non-homogeneous groups together is ridiculous..
If you hadnt noticed every "hispanic" obama promoted was puerto Rican or Domincan. His WH policy director is a black domincan "hispanic".The majority of hispanics are Mexican, you see clearly see the disparity

not all puerto ricans and mexicans hate eachother maybe some, but in majority most latin american people do get along because they all have the same history with spain, they were all colonised mexico,central and south america except brazil, and PR, DR, cuba, and so on, i dont think it’s hate i think it’s more of a whos better type of thing, so any latino would be happy if another latino would get promoted to such positions
It’s not really about anyone hating other people, but Mexicans and Puerto Ricans speak a similar language, that’s where all the similarities stop. Caribbean Hispanics have a different culture, different ethnic makeup in our countries, ect. I don’t get why they would even care.
I’m Mexican and I have no problem with Puerto Ricans, in fact I have relatives in PR.
I’m not proud for Sotomayor and I wouldn’t be proud for her even if she was Mexican.
I remember when she was promoted, many Mexicans didn’t care. Some of them knew she was Puerto Rican and knew she had nothing really in common with them or just didn’t care…
